Even during during the World Cup there´s there´s lots to do for the 2010 Fotomarathon. The FM-Team met on Saturday before the Quarterfinal game, to see the Fotomarathon prints and to cut the rolls. And so we could establish that more than 6000 photos were taken last June 19 during the 10. Fotomarathon. We received the photos from the lab in seven big heavy rolls -almost 20 kilos of prints!

 

This year 255 Series made it to the finish line, which will be shown in the Exhibition as stripes, around three and a half meters long. If put together in a straight line, they would be almost 900 metrs long -more or less the distance between Brandenburg Gate and Potsdamer Platz- which is only a minimal distance compared the many kilometers the participants covered during the Fotomarathon day.

Unfortunately some series had to be disqualified -for not sticking to the rules of the Fotomarathon. Sometimes there were less than 24 photos, other times there were more than 24  -or there were completely black photos, or the data was damaged and could not be read. We are terribly sorry not to be able to show these series to the Jury, but they will all be shown during the Exhibition.

The Jury met on Wednesday July 7 and selected the ten most accomplished photo series -perhaps another good omen for Germany´s semi final game, also on Wednesday.
