It was a wonderful, long, creative day, with participants in a good mood, sunshine and perfect photo-weather, diverse meeting points and surely many good ideas. Many thanks to everyone who participated in the 10. Berlin Fotomarathon and we hope everyone had a great time. To commemorate the 10th edition, we proposed travelling through time in Berlin and through its lively history. The city has experienced changing times and likewise, the Fotoathletes experieced the change in space and time from Station to Station all across Berlin.
The choice for "Time Travel" as theme is closely linked to the beginnings of the Fotomarathon in 1998, when the theme was "Time Travel" too. We expanded it to include Berlin, as the city has become the protagonist of the Fotomarathon in these last 12 years.
Around 400 participants gathered at the start, alone or in teams. 255 Series were received at the end, and they are already on the way to the lab to get printed. ALL series will be exhibited during a whole weekend, on 17 and 18 July, at the Furhpark in the Arena Berlin. You can then compare what how different participants interpreted themes like "no man´s land" or "head over heels".
In early July, an independent Jury will meet to select the best 10 series. The Jury is formed by photographers, designers, university professors. You can read more in our Jury Page, just click here.
The 10 happy winners will be announced during an Award Ceremony 17 and 18 July in the framework of the Exhibition, you can read more about it here. We hope to see many of you who were at the Fotomarathon, and also your friends and family.
